Designed to make your plant-care easier

Quenching your plant's thirst is an art form. But fear not, we're here to help! Our potting soil ensures your soil stays just right, neither too dry nor too wet.

The structure and components of our potting soil hold onto the perfect amount of water for your plants. Less watering worries, more plant pampering!

Full of microbial life

Our soil is bioactive and teeming with microbial life thanks to fresh worm castings.

It can be home to helpful critters like springtails, isopods, and the predatory mite "Macrocheles robustulus" – what awe-inspiring name! Springtails and isopods help convert decomposed matter into nutrients without interfering with the plants. The predatory mites specialize in attacking the eggs, larvae, and pupae of fungus gnats, thrips, and fruit flies. So, it's like having your own personal defense line!

While the soil is being cleared of adult worms, the eggs can still hatch in the soil. WORMS IN MY SOIL? YES! That's a good sign! It signifies incredibly fresh worm castings. Earthworms feast on decaying plant matter, keeping the soil airy and producing fresh nutrients. They also regulate their own population (along with springtails, isopods, and predatory mites). So, once there's no more decaying matter, they'll gradually disappear.

Our commitment to responsible production.

At Sybotanica we not only want to make plants happy, but people happy as well. In our production team we exclusively hire people with a distance from the workforce, and help them rehabilitate to the normal working life.

Take Peter for example:

Peter has been with Sybotanica since the 1st hour, and has now been promoted to head of production & a permanent contract! Where he was the first employee, he now manages a team of 3 production workers.

What makes this achievement even more impressive is that Peter achieved all this with only 10% visibility! đŸ•¶ïž With a few minor adjustments to his working environment, Peter is able to perform his job 100%.

Peter has now been through two moves and knows all the ins & outs of Sybotanica. He can even feel by the potting soil which variety it is. That's quite a challenge with 16 different mixes!

We are confident that Peter will keep production running smoothly in the coming years too! đŸ’Ș

We don't think peat is so neat!

It becomes too compact over time, leading to a state where it no longer absorbs water.

That's why we opt for coconut fiber and worm castings, keeping your potting soil delightfully airy and usable for much longer. Much more environmentally friendly in its use & less CO2!

Soil Mixes That Truly Understand Your Plants

Not all soil mixes are created equal—and at Sybotanica, we’ve spent years proving just that. Our SYBASoil blends aren’t just “good enough” for your houseplants—they’re designed to make every plant feel at home. Engineered to mimic the natural conditions of 16 different plant families, our soil mixes replicate the exact balance of airflow, moisture, and structure your plant would experience in the wild. That means fewer stress symptoms, better growth, and an overall healthier plant. Each blend also makes watering easier by retaining just the right amount of moisture depending on your plant species. And with a built-in 180-day supply of organic, slow-release nutrients, your plants stay fed for months—no extra fertilizer needed. When it comes to soil mixes that care for your plant from root to tip, nothing compares to SYBASoil from Sybotanica.

A New Standard for Premium Soil Mixes

Tailored to Mimic Natural Habitats

Most generic soil mixes assume all plants want the same thing—Sybotanica knows better. Whether you’re caring for tropical foliage, arid succulents, or moisture-loving ferns, our SYBASoil blends recreate the exact environmental conditions your plant thrives in. This targeted approach eliminates the guessing game from plant care and creates the perfect home for your green friends right from the start. Plants that “feel at home” in their potting mix are more likely to root deeply, resist pests, and grow vibrant, healthy foliage. With soil that mirrors your plant’s native habitat, you’re no longer just keeping it alive—you’re helping it thrive.

Smart Moisture Control for Stress-Free Watering

One of the biggest challenges in indoor plant care is watering correctly. With SYBASoil, you’re no longer flying blind. Each of our soil mixes is designed to hold exactly the right amount of moisture depending on your plant’s unique needs. That means less worry about overwatering or drying out. Whether you have a moisture-sensitive Calathea or a thirsty Monstera, our mixes work with you to regulate hydration naturally. This precision helps prevent root rot and makes plant care much more forgiving—even for beginners. When your soil works with you, watering becomes less of a chore and more of a confidence-boosting habit.

Built-In Nutrition That Lasts for 180 Days

Organic, Slow-Release Fertility Designed for Your Plant

Forget messy fertilizers and confusing feeding schedules. SYBASoil blends come with a six-month supply of organic nutrients already built in. Each formula includes a targeted nutrient profile tailored to your plant’s family—so aroids get what aroids need, and cacti get what cacti crave. These slow-release ingredients break down gradually, delivering balanced nourishment over time without risk of overfeeding. It's the easiest way to keep your plant strong, vibrant, and healthy with zero extra effort. No supplements, no second-guessing—just smart, nutrient-rich soil that does the work for you.

An Eco-Friendly Choice That Puts Plants & Planet First

As always, Sybotanica prioritizes sustainability in every product we create. Our SYBASoil blends are built on a base of coconut coir potting mix, a renewable, biodegradable alternative to peat that supports better soil health and biodiversity. This makes every bag of SYBASoil an eco-friendly potting soil option you can feel good about. Designed for long-term success with soil for indoor plants, each mix is hand-crafted in the Netherlands using ethical sourcing and people-conscious production. We do all this for one reason: to make plants happy, people happy, and the planet a little greener—one soil mix at a time.

How much soil do I need?

Check out this pot volume calculator tool to calculate how much Hoya Mix you need.

What are the SYBASoil mixes made of? How can I make my own mixes at home?

On each SYBASoil mix page in the description is a section 'Ingrediënts & recipe', there you can find what any mix contains and how to mix it yourself!

Why is the soil shipped moist?

Our soils are packaged and shipped slightly wet. This is to help ensure the quality of the mix. Most of our soil components need to be slightly wet to maintain their quality.

A good example is our worm castings. Worm castings need to remain slightly wet to ensure all the beneficial soil microfauna stay alive. These microfauna help ensure happy and healthy plants!

When do I need to re-feed the soil?

The nutrients in SYBASoil will run out in ~6 months on average.

Check out our fertiliser line SYBASupport.

How long does SYBASoil stay fresh?

You can store SYBASoil for about 2 years. Make sure to store it cool, dark and closed off.

The effectiveness of the nutrients can degrade over the years. Simply add some fresh worm castings to give the soil new life.

How to recycle SYBASoil packaging?

Our packaging can be recycled at your local plastic recycling facility.

You can also re-use it for storage, or leave a little soil and use it as a propagation box!

Do I need to sterilise SYBASoils?

No, this is something we don't do and generally don't recommend, since most our soil mixes contain worm castings, these provide many beneficial microfauna we like in our soils!

When the soil is sterilized these beneficial microfauna would die. These microfauna ensure healthy and happy plants.

Should I add anything to SYBASoil?

Unless you use the Base Mix, you don't need to add anything. You can always experiment to see what works best for your plant and specific situation!

SYBASoil has 180 days of fertiliser, after that you can try our SYBASupport range.
