Tips

  • Fertilize only while the plant is growing (spring/summer). Pause during fall and winter.
  • Less is more: Never exceed the recommended dosage.
  • No need to dissolve in water—apply directly to the soil.
  • Do not use this fertiliser the first 180 days after repotting with SYBASoil!

Orchid Slow-Release Plant Food

Orchid Slow-Release Plant Food is the easy way to give your orchids consistent care without weekly feeding. Designed as an orchid slow release fertilizer, it delivers essential nutrients gradually over time, keeping your plants nourished for months. Best used with mineral substrates like SYBAStones, especially the Orchid Mineral Mix, this orchid controlled release fertilizer supports healthy roots, stronger stems, and vibrant flowers with minimal effort.

Why Orchids Thrive With Slow-Release Care

Orchids can be sensitive to sudden doses of nutrition. Liquid feeding is effective, but it requires frequent attention. Orchid nutrient pellets provide a steady supply of balanced nutrition that mimics the gentle way orchids absorb food in nature. This method reduces the risk of overfeeding while encouraging continuous flowering and resilient growth. By choosing orchid fertilizer granules instead of harsh alternatives, you give your plants lasting strength and beauty.

Steady Support With Every Application

Orchid Slow-Release Plant Food is designed to release nutrients gradually, so your orchid receives a continuous flow of balanced nutrition. These orchid care pellets work especially well in the SYBAStones Orchid Mineral Mix, where they provide the consistent feeding that a non-organic substrate cannot offer on its own. By using orchid growth pellets instead of quick-dissolving fertilisers, you avoid sudden nutrient spikes and keep your orchid on a stable path to long-term health.

Benefits of Using Slow-Release Nutrition

  • Designed for mineral substrates like SYBAStones Orchid Mineral Mix
  • Improves root strength and prevents nutrient deficiencies
  • Supports lush leaves and longer flowering cycles
  • Reduces the need for frequent fertilizing
  • Safe and gentle, protecting orchids from fertilizer burn
  • Season-adjusting; Automatically feeds more in summer, less in winter

With orchid release nutrition, your plants receive a balanced rhythm of nutrients that supports steady, resilient growth.

Ingrediënts

Coated mineral fertiliser made in the Netherlands. Slow release plant food with its controlled release of nutrients through coating technology is the most efficient way of feeding. Because of the coating around the nutrient, you use much less compared to uncoated fertilisers, organic fertilisers and/or water-soluble fertilisers.

Another big difference is that there is little or no nutrient leaching. This is not only good for the substrate and water quality, but also for optimal uptake by the plants.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I re-feed?

After ~120 days or when the plant stops growing and starts showing nutrient deficiencies.

Can I combine different fertilisers?

We do not recommend mixing any of the SYBASupport Line fertilisers. Combining with Worm Castings & Lava gravel is possible.

For SYBASoil, We do still recommend waiting until the nutrients have run out (~6 months after repotting).

Can I use this product for cuttings?

We wouldn't recommend it, as too many nutrients & underdeveloped roots can harm the plant. This fertiliser is a mineral one, it's more intense.

Instead use a more gentle BIO fertiliser from SYBASupport.

Can I use this product year-round?

But don’t plants need different amounts of nutrients in summer and winter? This product helps with that!

The warmer it gets, the more nutrients will be released—less when it’s cold. So you can apply year-round. We still would not recommend to add this plant food in the middle of winter, waiting until the early spring is ideal.

Can I use this product during the growth & flower stage?

Yes you can!

How do I store Orchid Slow-Release Plant Food?

Make sure the product is stored in a dry, dark & cool place.

Stored this way the fertiliser will stay good for years, after that it's effectiveness will start to drop.

Will Orchid Slow-Release Plant Food save my dying plant?

If a plant isn’t doing well, adding fertiliser is like giving candy to someone with a stomach ache—it might make things worse.

First, check what’s wrong: too much water, not enough light, or pests. Fix those problems before feeding it.

If lack of nutrients is the problem, your plant might look pale, grow slower, or have yellowing leaves, especially the older leaves.

That’s when fertiliser can help—but always use the right type and amount to avoid overfeeding!

What's the difference between BIO & Mineral fertilisers?

Mineral fertilisers are like fast food for plants—quick and easy but can run out fast.

Organic fertilisers are like healthy home-cooked meals—slower to work, but they make the soil better over time.

*For mineral substrates like SYBAHydro, we havent been able to find a suited bio fertiliser, that's why we sell the mineral fertilisers

How to recycle the Orchid Slow-Release Plant Food?

All SYBASupport jars & bottles are made from 100% rPet (recycled & recyclable), remove the label and bring them to your local recycling facility under recycle code 1.

The scoops can be re-used and are from PP. You can recycle them under recycle code 5.

We are actively researching a way to create our own recycling services.

What's the difference between Liquid & Slow release fertilisers?

Liquid fertilisers are like a quick drink for your plants—they get nutrients fast but need more refills.

Slow-release fertilisers are like a snack that keeps unwrapping itself, feeding your plants bit by bit over time.
